COVID-19

March 25th, 2020

Hello from Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Associates. We hope your family is well.

With all that has been happening we wanted to give you an update on our current office policy and standing regarding the latest developments.

As of today, Governor Stitt has ordered that all non-essential businesses shut down until April 14th, 2020. This can often get confusing as to what businesses are allowed to stay open.

Rest assured, that Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Associates is considered an ESSENTIAL business, and we will continue to remain open to take care of your foot and ankle needs.

We continue to implement the strictest guidelines to ensure your safety when visiting our offices in Moore, Edmond, and Midwest City. Dr. Walker’s office in Yukon, with Mercy Health Systems, is currently unavailable, however we have extended time in our Edmond office for Yukon residents to be seen.

When arriving at our office, you will be asked to simply wait in your car until it is time to see you. This insures maximum social distancing and allows minimal contact with others.

We have always followed universal sterilization guidelines in our office and do a thorough cleaning of the exam room between patients.

There are disposable gloves and mask available at your convenience.

We will follow a four-week interval between most clinical appointments. The current data suggests that the threat of viral infection from Covid-19 will be well in hand in the next four months. That leaves our patients with one to four appointments over that period of time, depending on the severity of your condition.

If a patient feels sick or has been sick recently, we ask that you reappoint for your appointment. Two to three weeks from the time of the sickness would be the best time period for the next appointment. Any staff members that feel sick will not be allowed in the clinic until they are symptom free.

If you left the country over Spring Break, we ask that you move your appointment to after April 8th.

We ask that families try and limit the number of family members attending patient appointments. We know this is not always possible, but it does make sense from a number’s standpoint. We understand when this is not possible to follow.

On a personal note we know that this crisis will pass. We want our daily lives to function as smoothly as possible and we are hopeful they will.  We will do everything we can to follow common sense guidelines to make this a safe place for all patients and staff.  Thank you for your attention to this situation. If you should have further questions, please don’t hesitate to call our offices.  And as always, refer to our website: okfootandankle.com. Best wishes for all of us.

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff of Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Associates

UPDATE: Shelter in Place Declarations

As you may know, Oklahoma City and Edmond have currently issued “stay at home” mandates during this Covid-19 crisis. It is highly possibly that many other communities will do the same. This can often be confusing as to whether you can visit our offices for your care. Rest assured, our clinic is considered an “essential business” and you can therefore travel to our office for your needs.

Pursuant to the current Edmond and Oklahoma City “Shelter in Place” Declarations:

  • Persons may leave their residences only for Essential Activities as defined herein or operate Essential Businesses.
  • For purposes of this Declaration “Essential Activities” shall include:
    • To engage in activities or perform tasks essential to their health and safety, or to the health and safety of their family, household members, or pets (for example, obtaining medical supplies or medication, visiting a health care professional, obtaining supplies needed to work from home, or perform property maintenance)

If you should have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our office. As always, you can refer to our website: okfootandankle.com for further information.

Stay Safe,

The Doctors and Staff of Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Associates
